Pride (プライド, Puraido) was the first and strongest Homunculus Father created. He was placed in the role of Selim Bradley, the adopted son of Führer King Bradley.
Appearance[]
In his human form, Pride takes the appearance of a young child. His hair is mostly in a bowl cut, with the front and right side of his hair being spiky. He tends to wear suits and sweater vests, complete with formal pants and ties. His eyes have dark brown irises that are indistinguishable from his pupils.
Being crafted in the exact likeness of Father, his full-powered form looks very similar to Father's. When he uses his shadow, it solidifies and expands outwards from him, forming a giant mass with tendrils expanding from the center. On the shadow there are many large eyes with red irises. Beneath some of the eyes are mouths which he can use to speak or attack. There are also mouths located at the end of his tendrils. After being defeated by Edward Elric, his true form was revealed to be a small, thumb-sucking infant, no bigger than the palm of someone's hand.
Personality[]
Pride is, as his name would suggest, prideful. He even goes so far as to say that things such as anger do not exist within him further portraying his arrogance. Due to Pride being the actual shadow instead of the boy he uses as a container he is the closest amongst his six other siblings that in appearance resembles their father. He is the pride emotion taken out of father and made into a Homunculus, being the very first fills him with a sense of worth in a way as it seems to be something he holds highly.
Pride is like the rest of his brethren as he hates humans. He sees them as worthless and pathetic however when faced with the brutal truth that he himself relies on humans to remain stable he becomes angry and shows the emotions he claimed were ‘nonexistent’. This leads to Pride's down fall as he tries to take Edward's body and use it as his next container as he states “This container won’t last much longer” speaking about his current body. This is when his former associate Kimblee decided to step in causing the once arrogant Pride to panic for his very life.

He casts a demonic-looking shadow, which he can expand to cover an entire city, Pride can both spread his shadow on surfaces, or give it physical substance. He controls his shadow like his limbs and he can expand or reshape it to form tentacles, tendrils or jaws.Pride can see and talk through his shadow’s giant eyes and mouth, wherever it can expand.Pride can also devour people with his shadowy mouths and assimilate all of his victims’ powers and knowledge.
