Tim Marcoh (ティム・マルコー, Timu Marukō; ; ; ) is formerly known as the Crystal Alchemist (結晶の錬金術師, Kesshō no Renkinjutsushi) was the leading researcher in the military's Philosopher's Stone creation project. However he was reported as missing after the Ishvalan War.
Appearance[]
Marcoh has the appearance of an aging, remorseful man. His face is creased with a number of wrinkles due to age, and his short black hair was starting to grey around the edges. He was also fixed with an almost permanent downcast expression, only breaking from this when surprised or the brief smile he showed Edward at the train station.
His apparel was that of an ordinary citizen (if a bit formal), wearing a white buttoned up shirt underneath an open brown jacket, and a pair of brown slacks over his legs, overall complimenting his position as the local doctor.[1]
Personality[]
Because of the atrocities committed during the Ishvalan War, some of which by his own hands, Dr. Marcoh was left a very remorseful and guilt-ridden man, choosing to escape the life of a State Alchemist and instead spend his time as the local doctor in a small town.
Because of the way he left the military, Marcoh also held onto the fear that his former employers would eventually track him down and forcefully return him to Central due to his abilities, and his possession of valuable research documents. This fear was so crippling that the very sight of a former comrade would cause him to flee, and later fire a weapon at a young boy just for knocking on his door. However he later overcomes this initial fear of the military and entrusts Edward Elric with the secret to the Philosopher's Stone.[1]

Abilities[]
Extensive Bio-Alchemical Knowledge: He specializes in the research of living organisms.[2] This allows him to use the rare ability of using alchemy to heal, which he commonly does through the use of a philosopher's stone.
Philosopher's Stone Expert: Dr. Marcoh's expertise is in the research and development of Philosopher Stones. He is the one that was responsible for the creation of the philosopher stones for the state of Amestris.[3]
Alchemy[]
Bio-Alchemy: Dr. Marcoh possess a transmutation circle on his right hand that is similar to the one used for human transmutation by the state. Upon physical contact with a Homunculus it can cause extreme pain and near-fatal injures, as its capable of destroying the philosophers stone that makes up the core of a homunculus's life-force.[4]
Generic Transmutation: Dr. Marcoh is capable of the generic form of transmutation, drawing simple transmutation circles upon a surface and then upon activating it bring forth spikes to impale a target.[5]
